Create a warm welcome with ochre

Orange doesn’t always have to be intensely bright. Ochre, for example, is an earthy pigment that varies from a golden yellow shade to a light yellow brown colour. The most ancient of all organic pigments, ochre was used widely in prehistoric art, most notably in Palaeolithic murals found in a series of magnificently painted caves in France.

From autumn leaves to fields of wheat, ochre tones are associated with all things natural. When used in decorating, they instantly evoke a cosy and intimate feel, making them a perfect choice for entranceways or in any space where you want to make guests feel at home. Ochre looks particularly glorious with timber flooring and tarnished metals, like copper and silver.
