How to choose colour – receding and advancing colours
How to choose colour – receding and advancing colours
When painting a room it’s really worth considering whether you want to open up the room and make it feel bigger or whether you want to make the room feel more cosy and intimate. When considering colour choice for paint you can choose receding colours, which are cooler colours such as light blues and light greys that will make the space feel bigger, or advancing colours, which are warmer colours such as yellows, reds, violets and terracottas which create a more cosy feel.
In this video from “The Good Room” which is on the RTE Player, Gaff Interiors show how this works in a previously cluttered living room in Glanmire which they have transformed into a tranquil haven for the owners using the Coastal Calm palette.
