Top Tip : ‘’ Consider how much lighting effects the end result of your colour before making your final decision’’
Favourite Colour: Ha’penny Grey, is a grey green with a multi dimensional quality which creates a timeless and interesting backdrop.
Top Tip : Paint your testers onto some paper to move them around your space, keep those pages & put them in a folder for that room. Whenever you’re buying other items for it like carpets or cushions you will be able to bring it with you while shopping.
Favourite Colour: Dreamy Truffle - so warm and timeless, it makes a lovely atmosphere effortlessly.
When it comes to helping you plan your home project, the more information you can supply us with, the better. Photos of the space are obviously the best way for us to see what’s needed, so we’ve supplied some handy tips below on how to take the best ones.
But other details will be really helpful too. Details like what the room is going to be used for and how often? Is it, for example, a family room that will be used by everyone, every day. A bedroom makeover for a teenager who has outgrown their childhood decor. Or a so-called ‘good room’, kept mostly for entertaining, most probably at night.
We’d also like to know a bit about your own taste in colours and textures, so examples of what appeals to you would be useful too. If it suits, you could even put a board together on Pinterest and send us the link!
All this information will help our team to create the perfect palette for any space, indoors or out. Bear in mind though, that we are just here to advise - it’s up to you to make the final decision on colour and finish. We can, however, provide you with expert guidance on how to prepare for the job and avoid any possible pitfalls so you can be sure to achieve the perfect result.
Before you start, make sure your lens is clear and your picture resolution is set to at least 72dpi.
Clear the room of any clutter but leave the furniture in place.
Take the picture in the daytime so we can see how much light the room gets and how this will affect your colour choices.
Ideally, we’d like to see all four walls from floor to ceiling and side to side. To do this, you need to put your back against one wall and see if you can capture the complete opposite wall in one landscape format picture.
If you can, great, just do this for all four and we’ll be able to work with that.
Obviously there will be rooms where this isn’t possible. If that’s the case, we recommend taking a series of photos in portrait format instead so that we can match them up to see the big picture.
Take as many pictures as you need to help explain what you are hoping to achieve with your colour makeover.
