6 Inspired Dining Spaces
Chic schemes to help you entertain in the most stylish of ways.
Whether you’re looking for a quick refresh or a complete overhaul, there’s food for thought for every taste among these six dining spaces.
1. In the mood
This dining scheme from our Dark & Light trend marries deep saturated colours including Bitter Chocolate and Royal Regatta 1, pictured, with flashes of metallic for an opulent look that echoes the paintings of the Dutch Masters. Moody, but in a good way.
2. Minimal matters
Eternally stylish, monochrome is a failsafe scheme which will allow you to dress your dining space in different guises according to your mood. A painted blackboard on the wall and an assortment of mix-and-match chairs helps channel the effortless cool of an artist’s atelier. Finish with industrial lighting and there you have it, a veritable work of art. And when you're in the mood for an after-dinner game of Pictionary, all you need is a piece of chalk!
3. Old meets new
A period space can look oh-so contemporary given the right approach. This elegant dining room for example, combines historical details with an on-trend navy wall colour, statement lighting and an assortment of modern furniture designs.
4. Scandi rules
Blonde woods, understated styling and a harmonious palette of natural materials. This can only mean one thing – Scandinavian style, of course. Bring Scandi feeling of ‘Hygge’ (meaning cosy) into your home by adopting this less-is-more philosophy with simple neutrals, cosy textiles and candlelight. Then all that's left to do is to gather friends and family for feasting.
5. Fine dining
Cocoon yourself in a restaurant style scheme with a warm and sophisticated palette of soft oranges and mocha-toned neutrals, such as Bitter Chocolate 4 and Pink Nevada 3. Use luxurious materials for your details such as leather for seating and fine table linens, and you might find you staying into eat rather than dining out.
6. Grey scale
Crisp and clean, this Quartz Flint 1 and Cameo Silk 1 dining room design has been given a layer of interest with splashes of teal Inky Pool 5 and by giving the chairs a lick of paint. Upcycling old seating in coordinating hues lends this space an eclectic yet cohesive look. Who said grey was boring?
